Don’t throw your tree away, recycle it!
Oakland County Parks is offering a county-wide Christmas Tree recycling effort beginning after Christmas at 11 different Oakland County Parks locations.
The recycled trees will be turned into mulch and made available to the public free of charge for 2011. There is no fee to drop off the trees, but all ornaments and tinsel must be removed prior to disposal. Trees can be dropped off any day from December 26th, 2010 through January 16th, 2011 from 9a – 4p. For more information and to find a location near you, click here.
The Holiday Inn in Grand Rapids (310 Pearl Street Northwest) is accepting old holiday trees now through January 7. Trees can be dropped off between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., and there is no charge. For more details, click here.
